Carla Bruni has always had a certain poetry. The grace, style & beauty of this Italian-born, France-raised thirty-something is legendary; her intellect & vitality striking, even formidable. Carla Bruni signed with City Models at age 19. Paul Marciano, president and creative director of Guess? Inc., came across her picture among composite cards of aspiring models and chose her to model with Estelle Lefébure in campaigns for Guess? jeans.

By the 1990s, Bruni was among the 20 highest-paid fashion models, earning $7.5 million a year., subsequently worked for designers and fashion houses such as Christian Dior, Givenchy, Paco Rabanne, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Lacroix, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel and Versace. In 1997, Bruni quit the world of fashion to devote herself to music. Now as the first lady of France, after marrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy in February 2008, Carla Bruni is one of the most photographed women of the world but she doesn't want this to affect people's perception of her or her music. She wants the music to speak for itself and here it does.

This third album of her, Comme Si de Rien N'Etait translated in English as 'As If Nothing Happened' debuted at #3 on the French album chart the day after its release, selling 14,130 copies in two days. It features 14 songs in total and all royalties she will make from the purchase of the record by customers will go directly to charity. Well, it's so hard to pretend 'As If Nothing Happened' if you were as good as her.
